The patient-focused Embrace® Neonatal MRI System provides quality diagnostic imaging when and where its needed, while keeping premature and critically-ill infants safe and comfortable inside their care environment. This revolutionary, point of care imaging system is built specifically for use with neonatal patients and is uniquely designed to fit perfectly in any existing, renovated or new NICU space.
Redefine your NICU design and embrace a better care solution for NICU patients, their parents and the care team.
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) can generate higher quality scan images than x-rays or ultrasound, giving clinicans valuable insights for confident clinical diagnoses. However, the use of MRI on NICU patients has been limited in part due to the risks and challenges often associated with transporting these tiny, vulnerable babies to the Radiology department for scanning. Until now.
The Embrace® Neonatal MRI System is uniquely designed to enable greater access to quality MR imaging for those who need it most, without leaving the NICU. The system is built to address the specific needs of the Neonatal Intensive Care environment and can be installed without all of the construction requirements and limitations associated with traditional MRI scanners.
With a much smaller footprint than traditional MRI scanners, the 1T Embrace MRI is perfectly sized for babies and fits perfectly in an existing NICU space, as part of a NICU renovation, or new construction project.
The Embrace® needs only 252 sq. ft. of space with no special room or equipment requirements for installation, while traditional MRI suites require at least 800-850 sq. ft., 4-zone construction, and a host of building
specs and limitations.
Managing sound levels in the NICU is essential to help support the positive growth and development of neonates. The quiet operation of the Embrace helps to ensure minimal noise disruption for the patients and staff.
With the Embrace, babies stay warm and comfortable inside their care environment, while parents and the care team remain close by throughout the scanning process. No more risky, off-unit patient transports to the Radiology department for scanning.

The 2022 FGI Guidelines for Design & Construction recognize that the future of MRI is here, now, in the form of both portable MRI and purpose-build fixed units that serve specific clinical needs of narrow patient populations.
In this episode, host John Posh, Director of MRI Training & Education for Aspect Imaging, discusses the evolution of MRI Safety with architect, Tobias Gilk, MRSO, MRSE, architect and noted expert in MRI safety, operations, best practices, and accreditation standards.
Click and see for yourself how the Embrace® compares to current scanning methods, eliminating the need for special equipment, extensive preparation and high-risk, off-unit patient transport.
